Hi Families,

NO SCHOOL MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH! HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Another great week! We are looking forward to having you here on Back to School Night to show you all the learning that is happening!

Language Arts: Our Houghton Mifflin story is To Be a Kid. This is a story about kids from around the world and it will help us learn how to question and note details.

Word Wall Words: Your children will learn 5 new word wall words each week and together we will put them on our Word Wall. Listed below are the word wall words from Kindergarten and the 5 new ones. It is my hope that you will make a word wall at home or make flashcards to practice daily with your child. This will help your child with reading, writing, and spelling.

Grammar: We will continue our focus on starting each sentence with a capital letter, using capitals to write names and using the correct punctuation at the end of our sentences.

Mystery Person: Each day we will have fun discovering who is going to be the Mystery Person. This engaging activity helps students learn about their new classmates as well as practice reading, writing and spelling. Look for your child's Mystery Person book to come home!

Math: Our focus this week addition, finding missing addends, number bonds, and counting on.

Reminders:
*If your child has been given a take home book bag/parent log sheet, please listen to your child read the book, sign the log and return it each day Monday-Thursday.
*Your children work hard each day so please take a moment each day to review your children's work that they bring home in their folder and help them remember to bring an empty folder back to school the next day.
