Hi Families,

I cannot believe that it is the end of February!  I haven't had a chance to thank Doug, our Room Parent and all other parent and grandparent volunteers for organizing our fabulous Valentine Party. The kids had a blast! Also, thank you all for the flowers, and sweet Valentines!

Classroom Needs: PRIZES FOR OUR PRIZE BOX, TISSUES, BABY WIPES, WHITE BOARD MARKERS, CRAYONS, MARKERS, HIGHLIGHTERS

Homework: Each day your children have homework to improve their reading, spelling and math skills. The two computer based programs listed below help to build those skills. Your child is very familiar with both programs as they work with them each day here at school. Follow the log in procedure, it is different than the one they use at school, and thank you for helping your child learn at home with these amazing programs!

Lexia Reading Core 5 Program:
It is very helpful for you child to work in this program each day at home. This is a self directed program that helps your child with reading and spelling skills. Your child will need a head set to listen to the directions and complete it without any help as they do here at school. I receive a report as to the progress the children are making at with the program at home. I highly recommend it! To access it follow these 4 steps..
1. google lexia core 5

2 go to...
www.lexialearning.com/products/core5
3. go to "sign in" at the top right
4  scroll down to Core5

Moby Max
MobyMax is a computer based program and just like the Lexia Reading Core 5 Program, this is a self directed program that helps your child with academic skills at home. Your child will need a head set and then will be able to work in the program without any help.  I receive a progress report just like the Core 5 Program.  Your child will be working in the "math and fact fluency" section. Each student has a unique login. Follow these steps:

1. go to www.mobymax.com
2. fill in school name... rio del mar
3. click "sign in"

5. user name is your child's first name all lower case letters

Hi Families,

Happy February,

Valentine's Day: We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on February 14th. We will be having fun celebrating with many different fun activities. One activity will be passing out  Valentine Cards.
