Dear Families,

Here it is! It is the final two weeks of school! It is hard to believe. You should be so proud of all the accomplishments your children have made this year. I am beyond proud!

Our play is next Thursday, May 31 at 8:15 in our classroom.  We hope to see you there!  Scripts were sent home the other day so they can practice at home.  It should be a great show!

We will spend the last two weeks reviewing ALL the first grade math concepts taught this year. It is fun for the kids to look back at all they have learned and how they easily use the first grade math strategies now.

Your child will NOT be bringing home the take home book bag anymore this year.  I have collected all of them to make sure all the just right reading books have been returned. If you find any books at home please return ASAP.

Reminders: Monday, May 28, is a holiday
Wednesday, June 6th is NOT a restructured day
Friday, June 8th is the last day of school with dismissal at 10:50.

Hi Families,

Oh my goodness....summer is just around the corner!

Writer's Workshop: We are finishing our first Fiction story and starting on our second one! The kids are working hard making sure their story has an interesting beginning where you tell the problem, a full of details middle, a fabulous end where the problem is solved.  Wow! You will be amazed.

Math: We will be working with our 1-120 number chart to help develop deep understandings of numbers to 120 as they estimate, count, compare, add and subtract two-digit numbers. Working in the Moby Max Program, fact fluency and math sections, will help your child tremendously. If you don't have a computer, using addition and subtraction flash cards would be great.

Class Play: We are so excited to perform our class play, A Year With Frog and Toad.  We picked our parts yesterday and will begin practicing daily.  SAVE THE DATE!!!  We will have a performance for families in our classroom on Thursday, May 31 at 8:15 in the morning.  We hope you can make it.

Reminders:  No school May 4th.
