Hi Families,

Here is a peek at our upcoming week.

Language Arts: Our Houghton Mifflin story is Ten Dogs in the Window. This is a fun story that will help your children learn how to summarize, compare and contrast. They will write their own version of the story and it will travel to each home daily soon. Enjoy reading the book together as a family and help your child remember to bring it back the following day.

Word Wall Words: Your children will learn 5 new word wall words each week and together we will put them on our Word Wall. Listed below are the word wall words from Kindergarten and the 5 new ones. It is my hope that you will make a word wall at home or make flashcards to practice daily with your child. This will help your child with reading, writing, and spelling.

Grammar: We will focus on starting each sentence with a capital letter and the correct punctuation.

Mystery Person: Each day we will have fun discovering who is going to be the Mystery Person. This engaging activity helps students learn about their new classmates as well as practice reading, writing and spelling. Look for your child's Mystery Person book to come home!

Math: Our focus this week is skip counting, composing and decomposing numbers to 10, counting on and making pattern predictions.

Reminders:
*Please help your children remember to bring their back pack to school each day with their red class    folder. If the folder gets misplaced, you may buy them a new of their chose.
*Help your child remember to bring a small snack each day to be eaten during the first recess.

*Please label all clothing.
