Dear Families,
Wow! Thanks to ALL OF YOU for helping your
students remember to bring their Just Right Reading Bag to and from school each
day. They are doing great and their reading skills are improving!
Language Arts: Our Houghton Mifflin stories will continue to be fiction
stories. These stories will give us an opportunity to think about the
topic, main idea and the details from a story. We will also read many books
about fall and graph the similarities and differences from summer.
Grammar: We will work to see the differences between a phrase and a
complete sentence.
Writer's Workshop: We will begin this program starting with writing a personal
narrative looking at a small moment in our lives and the BIG THING THAT
HAPPENED during that small moment.
Word Wall Words: Your children will learn new word wall words each week and
together we will put them on our Word Wall. Listed below are the word wall
words from Kindergarten. It is my hope that you will make a word wall at home
or make flashcards to practice daily with your child. This will help your child
with reading, writing, and spelling.

missing addend such as_____ + 3=7 and 9+5=____ using the part, part, whole
